About 2 weeks ago, Rita gave a talk about the situation in Syria and the plight of the Syrian people to a group at Antioch University in Seattle. The talk was a part of their series Education in International Humanitarian Law. Participants in the series are exploring ethical and humanitarian issues of armed conflict, and developing a better understanding how humanitarian law protects life and human dignity. Rita’s talk focused on the humanitarian crisis in Jordan created by the massive inflow of refugees.
